Changelog

New features, improvements and fixes in q-bitf.

Improved

Faster and leaner

Pages and the extension get their settings and levels sooner, and the server holds on to less memory between updates.

Under-the-hood work this week, aimed at the first second of every load.

Site settings load once, not per visitor

Every page and every extension start asks for the site settings first (links, prices, the maintenance switch). That answer used to be rebuilt on each request with several database round trips. It is now built once, shared by everyone, and refreshed in the background, so the first paint no longer waits on it. The maintenance switch is still checked on every request, so a scheduled window opens exactly on time.

Levels overlay without the recompute

The Interval Map overlay the TradingView extension draws is reused whenever the underlying samples haven't changed, instead of being recomputed on every poll.

Less memory held

  • Cached answers that can no longer be served are dropped instead of waiting to be pushed out.
  • After each engine cycle the server hands freed memory back to the operating system.

Nothing you see changes: the same levels, computed the same way, arriving sooner.

NewExtension

Connect Discord status in the extension

Show your trading session on your Discord profile with one click from the extension popup. No helper to install.

Your Discord profile can show that you're in a session ("In a session · Trading · 57:15 elapsed") while a chart is open, and setting it up is now one click.

How to turn it on

  1. Open the q-bitf extension popup.
  2. Choose Connect Discord and approve the Discord sign-in.
  3. That's it. Nothing to download or run.

What it can and can't do

  • The permission only lets q-bitf set your status. It can't read your messages, servers or friends.
  • Disconnect in the popup clears the status and revokes access.
  • The sign-in token stays in your browser and is only ever sent to Discord.

The old desktop helper still works for anyone who prefers it (popup → Advanced: desktop helper); the two are never active at once.

Updating to 0.1.8

Version 0.1.8 adds the permissions this needs, so Chrome will ask you to accept them when the extension updates.

New

Macro Events

Prediction-market odds for Fed, CPI and recession outcomes, how each market has reacted on past release days, and the move options are pricing in.

A new Macro Events page (Macro → Event Odds), also available as a workspace widget, puts the next big release in one place.

Live odds

  • Kalshi markets for the Fed decision, CPI and recession, plus Polymarket for the Fed.
  • Thin markets with a wide bid/ask spread are hidden, so what's shown is a price people are actually trading.

How markets reacted before

For each event type, the historical release-day reaction of the asset you're watching, built from past settled events. An up or down arrow only appears when the average move is clearly different from zero; otherwise it's shown as no reliable lean.

What options are pricing

The options-implied move for the release (from the straddle) and the probability of closing beyond a key wall, so you can compare the crowd's odds with what the options market is paying for.

NewWorkspace

Implied Distribution

The options market's probability cone for price over the coming weeks, read from the full live book.

Implied Distribution shows where the options market thinks price can be, and how likely each level is, at every expiry ahead.

What you see

  • The options-implied probability distribution at each listed expiry inside the horizon, built from the full live option book.
  • Calendar days between expiries are filled in, so the cone widens smoothly instead of jumping from one expiry to the next.
  • Everything sits on one price grid, so you can read a level straight across time.

Symbols

  • ES, NQ, GC and YM are shown on the futures price scale, the same way the GEX levels are.
  • SPY, QQQ, IWM and GLD use their own option chains.

Nothing is stored: the distribution is computed from the current book each time it refreshes.

NewWorkspace

Exposure Gradient

Gamma, charm and vanna as a price × time field, projected forward to the close.

Exposure Gradient is a new workspace widget that maps dealer exposure across both price and time.

What it shows

  • Pick gamma, charm or vanna and see its exposure as a field: price on one axis, time on the other.
  • The field is projected forward to the close, so you can see where hedging pressure is set to build or fade as expiry approaches, not just where it sits now.

Outside market hours

When the market is closed the widget shows the last session, the gap (including weekends) and the next session projected ahead, so it is never empty on a Sunday.

ImprovedWorkspace

Redesigned workspace and landing

A warmer theme, colour palettes per widget, neon walls, ETF symbols on every futures widget and reachable Day walls.

The workspace and the landing page have a new look, and the widgets picked up a few things along the way.

A warmer theme

A warm graphite background with teal for calls and positive values and coral for puts and negative ones. Settings and controls stay neutral grey so the colour is reserved for data.

Palettes per widget

  • Each widget can use its own colour palette.
  • Bars are shaded by the size of their exposure, so the strikes that matter stand out, unless you've picked a colour yourself.
  • Neon walls: call and put walls are drawn in high-contrast colours that stay readable over candles.

ETFs on futures widgets

Every futures widget now also works with SPY, QQQ, IWM and GLD, using the same engine as the futures levels.

Reachable Day walls

New Day Call Wall and Day Put Wall levels sit where price can realistically reach in the session (about two standard deviations from spot), next to the structural walls that can be far away. They're opt-in in the TradingView extension.
